The District owns and maintains the underdrain system serving the Dancing Willows community. The above map shows the approximate locations of the District's underdrain system. The purpose of the underdrain system is to redirect groundwater or excess moisture away from those properties within the District that have basements. The underdrain pipes are perforated PVC pipes designed to absorb excess moisture in the soils and, using gravity, transfer such water to the storm water drain system or nearby stormwater detention ponds.
The District hires contractors to periodically (1) inspect the underdrain system for breaks in the lines, excess sediment buildup in the lines, interference caused by tree roots, etc, and (2) perform repairs and maintenance on such system.
